Did you know that every year about 640,000 tons of lost fishing gear remain in the seas and oceans?
This is plastic waste that does not decompose biologically.
Millions of marine animals, including dolphins, seals, turtles and seabirds, suffer from being entangled in these nets, resulting in serious injury or death.
We can't just ignore this, so we donate part of the proceeds to Healthy Seas, which works with various diving groups in Europe and organizes dives to clean up the seas and collect lost fishing gear to save as many marine animals as possible. .
Healthy Seas works with fishermen, fisheries and local communities to prevent fishing nets from falling into the sea.
Together they are working on measures for the responsible use of networks.
This is hard and dangerous work, divers often work with very poor visibility, for example in the North Sea.
Since its launch in 2013, with the help of divers, fishermen and fish farms, Healthy Seas has assembled more than 510 tons of fishing nets.
With a group of divers in one day, "Healthy Seas" can collect about 300 kg of lost nets.
With the help of a fire company in cooperation with divers in two days, they can also collect from 6 to 10,000 kg of nets.
It is very easy to join.
